My toes need to breathe...
I am really ready for spring.
I want to break out my fun colored jackets, I want to wear cotton sweaters instead of wool, I want to see color on people, but mostly, I want to wear dresses, lightweight ones, with sandals instead of boots. It's killing me that I'm letting Easter Sunday pass without a new spring dress. I have some great fabrics I am excited to whip up into a new spring wardrobe, but it will all just have to wait, wait for warmer weather. I mean, who wants to see a cotton dress dress paired with wool tights and boots? Dresses NEED sandals.
I can't wait for an excuse to buy some new ones. I will have to narrow them down to just one or two, but there so many cute ones out there already, do I choose comfort over cute? feminine over androgynous? I love so many of them, I guess my budget will have to decide for me this year.
My most favorite pair:
I have been obsessing over these for the last 2 1/2 years. They are by K Jacques. Maybe this year will be it for me. Gladiators aren't going anywhere yet.
My sort of second favorite pair:
I'm still sort of on the fence here with these. I saw them all over Brooklyn last year and hated them at first, but by the end of summer they really grew on me. And of course they scored major bonus points when I saw them on her.
My favorites from Urban Outfitters.
Matt Bernson, where did this guy come from? I love every pair I have seen of his so far.
And because they are so inexpensive & comfortable, maybe another pair of salt waters.

i have a real birkenstock problem - like 75% of my shoes are birkenstocks. however, i'm thinking i like your top picture best.
I prefer sandals year round. Sometimes I think I made the wrong choice when I cruch into the snow in my flipflops, but it only usually lasts a minute. And, since there's no snow on the ground right now (at least at my house) I think you could get away with some sandals this Sunday. (Or you could move on over to California and just wear sandals all the time - one of the greatest things about the place.)
I couldn't agree more with the dress/sandal love... and the desperation for winter to end! I'll probably be sporting my lil' red salt waters again this spring/summer. But LOVE that Maggie was wearing those birks. LOVE HER!
why did I even look at who the "her" was. I mean seriously I should have just known. Berks are way comfortable and last a long time. I don't see them on you how ever... they seem more chunky then you usually wear??? of course once again I could be totally wrong.
I love Maggie even more now because not only does she wear birkenstocks.. she wears them to Fashion Week. (And just for the record I've had that exact pair, but in blue suede for about five years, so I'm totally ahead of the curve on this one!)
Alysha,
I need spring sooo bad! I hear ya on the "toes need to breathe" thing. I am so ready to wear dresses and sandals. I keep sewing spring clothes and they are just sitting there in the closet teasing me. By the way, you better not EVER change your name from the Brooklyn Beans to something else! You will always be Brooklynites to us:)
it is time you get the gladiators alysha. two and a half years is a long time, you've earned them. (plus that gives me one more reason to get that darn bag).
if you take the birkenstock plunge i'll be impressed. when the silver in that style were all the rage about 5 years ago i considered getting them. . . just never could. then again, my feet don't work well with them.
but if you get the blue/white/brown urbanoutfitters pair we'll be sandal twins again!
i've always been a birk fan and when i saw her wearing those in the mags i thought "we have arrived my birks!" i was so happy.
i want every pair you posted, but i think budgetary constraints means i will also be getting just the saltwaters.
Those first pair totally seem you. I'm not surprised to hear/read that you've been wanting them for so long. And oddly enough I don't have as much to say about sandals as everyone else.
Tell me about it...I am so ready for spring too. You can't even wear a Easter dress because it is too cold. Where have you been in the mornings? I have been missin you. And you are one talented lady, I guess those Outdoor Clothing classes really paid off. Remember the laundry detergent commercial? "The right stuff." We were awesome!
Bring on the spring! I wish. This early Easter thing is ridiculous. I love all the pictures of the shoes...you can never have enough. I think I'm going to get my first salt waters since I was little. I saw all you girls wearing them last year and decided several were needed.
Hope you are enjoying the new house!
