Eight is great

2008_5

I've been inspired to post my new year goals after reading so many of my fellow blogger friends' resolutions.  I'm also hoping that by posting these I will actually accomplish them, I mean I don't want to let you guys down. So I've narrowed them down to eight. Eight that seem realistic and achievable, but not without some work.

1. Live by a budget & eliminate all debt.
I am great at setting budgets, but I never keep them. This year
we want to be financially free.

2. Become well informed on all current world affairs.
I am now 30 and need to be up on more than just what
    celebrities are wearing.

3. Be ok with leaving New York.
I'm not just leaving the city behind but the life we have
     created for ourselves here.

4. Pray on my knees morning and night.
This is on my list every year, and for a good reason too.

5. Have a baby.
This is proving to be difficult.

6. Start teaching violin & join a symphony.
New York has sucked the violin right out of my life and I have
    missed it dearly.

7. Create a 3 year plan for my prospective business, & get on it.
     Yes, clothing will be involved.

8. Make an educated, un-biased vote for the presidential election.
Just because I will be living in Utah doesn't necessarily mean I
     will be voting for Romney.

First, goals? I do not understand. Second, good goals.

#1, excellent and important because when you become financially more independent you can spend more money on things like, me.

#2, I'm sorry but that made me chuckle because it's so you.

#3. I want that for you so badly, and hope you can get that sooner in this year rather than later because you'll be leaving NY sooner rather than later and I'd hate for you to be unhappy here. I don't want you to be finally okay with leaving NY in November of '08, so let's try to get there faster, okay? Okay. Moving on.

#4 That would be on my list to if I made a list, but I don't make lists because I know I won't keep to it. It's what I do. That and doodle "Lists" and then never get further than that.

#5 (we are more than half way through) This is my favorite goal of all. This is going to happen. Someone's just a little world shy. You are a terrific mother.

#6, I think the violin has missed you. I love to hear you play, it will be fun to see you get more involved in it again.

#7, this too will be fun, especially with your cute clothes and style. You are so a 'business waiting to happen' you just need to get to it woman.

#8, "Obama, Obama, Obama, repeat after me.". Oh wait you said you weren't going to be influenced.

well, i'm not going to put "be OK with alysha leaving new york" on my list. it will never happen. i'll miss you more than i could ever possibly express.

but, i am so excited to hear about the achievements of 2008, even if it isn't while sitting on a park bench with you as we watch luke ride his "bike" better than the 6-year-olds, ruthie try to strip for the fifth time and eve pout against the fence. . .

Let's see...
How about #9...Re-think moving to Austin? Though it looks like plans are set in motion for Utah, which will help you with #5 (there's something in the water here) and #7 made me almost jump for joy as my sisters and I alone would keep you in business!
Happy 2008! I hope you have an awesome year, you have always struck me as very ambitious. :)
