Updates:November
Update on our apartment:
We are in contract. The papers are signed. Tentative date: mid to end of January.
Today, it looks like we are moving to SLC. Ask me again next week and I may have a different answer. Tom leaves to interview for jobs in a couple of weeks. Wish him luck. Or don't, if you are one of those that wants us to stay.
I have been a bit unmotivated. But, I'm just finishing up my third fall dress and beginning a pencil skirt that will look something like this, and a jacket that will look something like this. I will post pics of the dresses next week.
He is still learning how to smile on que.
I feel like this most of the time. Completely unmotivated to do anything.

Hi. You don't know me from adam. I've been reading your blog off and on for a couple of months - ever since I saw a link from a friend of yours showing photos of your apartment. I read all about your ordeal buying the apartment and I've been checking back in periodically in the meantime. I even wrote a blog that was partly inspired by reading yours (wondering what our life would have been like if we had opted for Columbia instead of UVA back in 1992 when my husband whent to law school - you can read it on my blog under the archive, october posts, titled "location, location, location") (or not - you are under no obligation to read the blog of a stranger just because she's reading yours!) At any rate, I have to tell you I am a bit sad you're moving back to SLC. I really enjoy reading about your life in NY!
At any rate, good luck with whatever you do!
I will be very sad if you don't move to the SLC. Are Tom's interviews in Utah or other states? I love that you update your blog regularly, I look forward to reading it. I am with you on the last pic!
Goodness! (Where to start)
The light at the end of the tunnel? Not that you particularly want to leave, but we ourselves are in a similar 'do we stay or do we move' situation as my husband is applying to grad schools all over the country. I just want to know where I'll be in a year so I can start a blasted violin studio! My hope for you is the same for us, that you can put down some roots and get on with life!
I love the little snippets of New York you have provided along the way, and am always looking forward to seeing what interesting thing you have going on next. What an adventure. I wish you luck! And you look fantastic by the way.

Ah, another blog that I can read instead of doing my homework. I love your blog-- especially all the wonderful fall pictures from the neighborhood! So cute! Good luck on the sewing projects.
I hear you that's where I'm at these days. Salt Lake sounds wonderful! Hope that works out for you- good Luck! Oh yes, your projects are wonderful- I always feel like doing nothing when I do too much!
I'm kind of in love with the photo of the people moving. "First things first, lets get the lamp and the much needed record player, everything else can go in boxes and not look as cool." And *le sigh* to the last picture because that is me all the live long time. I wish Tom good luck no matter where you go.
