Some much needed fresh air

Taking a cue from this post, I took a sewing break, and spent all weekend minus some prior obligations outside. The weather was beautiful, a first really this year, and we spent every minute we could soaking in all that we've been deprived for the season.

Friday, after a free meal at Chipotle, we stopped by the park, had some fun, and took lots of pictures.

Saturday evening we went to Heather's going away BBQ. So fun to see old friends. So sad to say goodbye. And just as I moved back. I made my most favorite dessert for the event, Berry Banana Trifle. The recipe is very similar to this one, just swapped with Angel Food cake instead of the Nilla Wafers, and added berries.

But the real excitement of the weekend was watching the new baby birds peak their heads from the nest right outside our window.

yeah that bird picture looks fake. people don't get to see stuff like that in real life. JK
Love seeing my little nephew's face. we are just going to have to come up and visit a lot when you are in your home, b/c I don't like sharing Luke with lots of other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ah Mama bird flew away. And she took the nice weather with her. It's good that you took the time to enjoy the weather when you did because suddenly out of nowhere, totally unexpected (unless you read the weather reports) good weather went bad. Very bad, cold bad. From very hot (which I don't necessarily qualify as good, but that's neither here nor there) to 'where's my blanky I'm a freezin' cold' over night. Utah is a bipolar state. I never know what it is going to be like (again unless you read the weather reports, but who does that)?

PS I love how in the (very cute) picture of you, Luke is rolling down the hill.
