Day 8

This was actually our second attempt at the Bronx Zoo in a week. The first time, after driving all the way up there, & getting lost, we decided that the rain might make it less than enjoyable. So we went at it a week later with the Riches. Our initial plan was to go see the train show at the Bronx Botanic Gardens, but that was sold out, so we went straight to the zoo.

I don't want to go as far as saying it was disappointing, but most of the animals were "not available", and the admission price was a bit steep for a "holiday light" spectacular. The lights at temple square are much more impressive and FREE at that. But we had a good time despite a few falls from the kids and yes another broken camera, number three for this year.

A big step for Luke, he made it around and around the carousel without screaming.

The "holiday light show" really only consisted only of animal shapes wrapped in lights. Some of them were pretty great though.

What a great idea to give each other fun New York experiences instead of gifts...something you probably can't do in Utah. :) Looks like it has been a great holiday season for your family!

"Look at the lights." Another broken camera? My goodness. Sorry that the animals were not 'available.' That is kind of a bummer since you do pay top dollar to see said animals. And oh how I am in love with that picture of Lukey smiling on the ferris wheel. And I'm so proud to hear/read that he did it without screaming. A first for the Bean family (& the Smith's). And I agree with the above comment. It was a great idea to do these fun NY things together as a family rather than gifts. Plus we get to enjoy them much more so than we have your boots. ;)
