Farms are fun
If only I lived on one. Luckily I can visit at just the perfect times of the year and gather all of the fresh fruit and veggies my stomach desires. A couple of weeks ago we hit a farm just about an hour and a half outside of the city for apples, corn, grapes, peppers, and nectarines. The farm was delightful. Big wagons to tow the kids and food up and down the fields, animals, a little miniature town for kids, and a great snack bar that cooked me up the most delicious sweet corn I have had all summer.
One of my favorite things about the farm is being able to let Luke run and run without the need to keep my eye on him constantly.
Luke's favorite was all of the unlimited apples he could sink his teeth into.
And of course the wagon rides.
I think I have found my most favorite food in the world. Red grapes off the vine. Just one little grape has the most intense sweet flavor, I really can't describe it. I almost cried when I ate my last one. Just the grapes are worth going back for.
I can't wait for October when the apples are ripe for picking. I am dreaming of biting into a crisp sweet apple and the smell of warm pie. Oh fall, please come soon!

This post is making my mouth water...I too am a huge fan of fresh corn, nectarines, and the rest. I love this time of year because of similar little stands here in town, but we have yet to experience the full farm! Looks like a blast!!
ps. i am enlisting my mother in law for help with the built by wendy pattern I ordered...I'll let you know how it goes!
That does sound pretty magical! Wouldn't it be great to be able to eat fresh produce like that everyday. I would love it!
Yummy! I am jealous, sounds like a great place.
I second your plea for fall to come soon. I bought some halloween/fall decorations the other day but it felt wrong because it is still hot here in the south.
Yep, I'm with Leslie, my mouth is watering. Perhaps it's from watching Lukey take a gigantic bite and a half out of that apple & I can practically feel the juicy yet sticky stuff all over his hands therefore all over everyone he touches and since I like to think of myself as one of those he loves so dearly, I can practically feel the juice on my own skin. Yum. Only a little bit sticky but still, I wanna bite. "Lukey can I have a little, hey slow down Lukey, slow down hey Lukey, Aunt Tara wants a, freak nevermind, she'll get her own." I'm going to go ahead and ask but I do not need an answer for it is rhetorical, but how freaking cute is Lukey trying to feed the little goat or little pony or big freakish looking dog, with whatever is in his hands while actually keeping his hands completely closed? The answer, since like I said, it was rhetorical, so very very. "Lukey, Mr. Little goat man, or pony man or who ever you are trying to feed can not nibble when your little fist is tightly covering his most likely delicious meal." Unless Lukey is actually trying to feed the goat his hand, cause then he is doing it perfectly, albeit with some understandble hesitation. I've never had a grape that made me want to cry because it was so good, but now?! I must have one. Save one for me so that upon my next visit I can taste of its deliciousness. I'm sure it will hold up just fine.
