donuts and squishees
I am no super duper Simpson's fan, & I probably won't see the movie in the theater, but I couldn't pass up the once in a lifetime opportunity to go to a Kwik E Mart. I have to hand it to the marketing team who worked on this campaign, it got us there. After a week of going back and forth as to when I would head into the city, (nothing is easy in New York), we decided to stop there sans Luke, after the Yankees game on Wednesday night. It would have been an easy trip but at 86th street, they stopped all service downtown, avoiding the pipe explosion at Grand Central Station. We hailed the first cab we saw and asked him to take us to the Kwik E Mart, of course he had no idea what we were talking about nor did he know the location of the 7 eleven it was occupying. On a side note we accidentally told the cab driver we were just at the Yankees game and consequently the entire ride went like this, us saying "yeah", "no kidding", "really?" while he rattled off Yankee jibberish most of which we didn't understand.
It was worth the $14 cab ride and the 4 block walk for pink donuts and squishees. We even got to hang out with the family for a while.

Hey Alysha,
I am so jealous! I really wanted to go to the kwik-e-mart here, but it's in a bit of a scary neighbourhood. Get a squisheee or maybe get a crowbar smashed in your face...tough decision!
I want a donut right now.
Ha. That's so awesome. Both the kwik e mart, and the story of the cab.
I just sent a box of Krusty-O's and some Buzz colas to my brother in the MTC. Hopefully the caffeinated beverages aren't considered contraband.
so awesome!
