Tara's 25....again!
It's Tara's birthday today and Luke and I thought we would share 10 random things we love about her!
1. She's funny as hell!
2. She has lot's of converse shoes & hoodies ( I think one of each in every color)
3. Luke would rather be held by her than his own mother.
4. Even when she's not feeling well, she makes sure I am!
5. I get every inside scoop from her & I sometimes even try to pass it off as my own.
6. She has really pretty green eyes.
7. We can laugh together for hours.
8. She is a great listener. People tell her everything, even when she doesn't ask.
9. She takes care of Luke better than I do.
10. Her food routines are even more regimented than mine. She has been eating the same things for years.
11. she is my bestest friend!

yay for tara! her comments on this blog almost always lead to me wiping away tears of laughter and every time she is in town i kick myself for not spending more time with her. and yes, her eyes are envy-worthy.
happy birthday tara!! come visit again. come on, one last time!
12) She gives the best hugs in the universe!
13)She's the COOLEST cousin in the world!! Oh the memories over the years.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TARA!! (If you read these comments. But wait -- I will actually tell you in person today! I hope you will be at the shower!)
Oh Tara lists!
14) If she was writing a list it would be hilarious. Like, seriously funny. Oh man, I'm laughing just thinking of the hilarity. Well, not really. But I would.
15) I'm just going to echo something Alysha mentioned which is that Tara is always the most empathetic member of my family when I'm feeling sick. She is a totally caring person.
16) Tara, if you are reading this, my friend Crystal thinks you are beautiful. She specifically pointed you out when we were looking through my pictures. "Who is that!? She is beautiful!")
17A) Tara, I think you are beautiful.
17A PS) Tara, congratulations. I have officially made you the second person of this post. (As in, whenever I say "you" I mean Tara.) Sorry suckers!
18) So I am really popular with certain women specifically because of your taste in 90's teenage television shows. I know all about Bryan Austin Green. In fact, I even have his autograph. People (well, mostly 25-30 year old women) find my knowledge of Spelling Television productions really incredible. It's all thanks to you.
19) You are the only sister I have ever wanted to marry.
20) You are interested in politics, thank heaven! (An aside: Wake up people! Obama 2008! http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200712/obama/3 )
21) Movies! I love movies; you love movies. And we both love talking about them, which I really love to do with you because it is so lovely.
22) We have a connection, dude.
Congratulations Tara, I have never commented on this blog before, even if it's about my own son. I'm not one to cry. I can count the times that I have cried in the last ten years on one hand. I suppose I'm a pretty tough guy. However, reading Alysha's post nearly made me cry. You really are her best friend, she loves you so much, and so do I. Your a great sister-in-law, totally cool, easy to talk to, not obnoxious or annoying, and gorgeous.
Well, I spent quite a while writing about Tara and obviously I do not know how to do this because it didn't show up.
If you don't know Tara you are missing out. She brings sunshine to the world...at least when she is feeling semi-okay. And though she doesn't seem to have as much of it in her own life, she wants everyone to be happy, comfortable, and know that they are loved.
Tara should have been my mom instead of vice versa. She keeps me in line, reminds me of good etiquette, buoys me up, and supports me and all family members in whatever we are doing.
No matter how sick she may be, she never misses an event involving a family member, in particular Whitney's many dancing activties. She is the first to offer to pay, the first to say thank you, and the first to suggest doing something nice for someone...although I must admit she delegates all birthday cakes or goodies to me - which I don't really mind.
She is a cheerleader for the underdog.
While she loves visiting Alysha in NY she hates spending money...although she is more generous than her other siblings (no offence). She would do anything for Luke and just mentioning his name brings a smile to her face.
I appreciated her going back to Minnesota with me for my brother's funeral. Though she felt rotten most of the time, she was there to comfort her cousin and bring laughter to all she met. We had a good time and she even bought me a pair of shoes on her birthday!
Tara, you are one of a kind and I hope someday you will be able to see the difference you make in this sometimes dreary world.
Love,
Mom
Ahhh. I was always hoping I get one of these and then I did and then it made me feel a little bit..... Ahhhh! Um. Wow. First let me say that I feel honored that you and Lukey spent all that time coming up with that list. It couldn't have been easy considering he probably wanted to say "Apple, apple apple, apple, apple, apple" or "Addy, Addy, Addy." Thanks Lukey. In truth a part of me wants to try and go "nu-uh' to some, or many of those things on your list as well as some on the list that other's continued (though I will take credit for Justin's well known knowledge of Spelling productions), for instance I know for a fact I do not own every color of converse, I mean I sure I have the basics, but every color? I wish! And is it a known fact that hell is funny? If so, awesome. I feel quite cool knowing that someone, especially my sister, who I infact think is especially giggle worthy thinks I'm as funny as hell. And though the list was only supposed to be ten, #11, right back at you sis. A hundred times back at you. Again I feel a little, well in the spot light (I'm kind of glad that I didn't get a chance to see this until after you had posted something else, my face and nothing else is a little, wow there you have it), but I must thank those who also left very kind words on my behalf, though I feel undeserving.
Katie, you are one of my favorites. Always will be, which is why you must MUST come with Alysha when she moves. Don't worry your family can come with you. In fact I think it would probably be better if they did (as we would all miss Eve's low growly voice and her complete lack of needing to be clothed). While there are many others Alysha would miss in Brooklyn, if we could pack up the Riches & bring them with us, it sure would make leaving a whole lot easier.
Sara, I don't really, you're just easy to hug.
Hillary, I'm so sad we (my mom & I) missed your shower... for your baby (not just your showers in general as that would be weird and well I think I have missed a lot of those and I don't really feel weird about that. I would of loved to have seen you and your cute growing belly.
Jay dog. Hehe. I can't even comment on all of yours. Fortunately your desire to marry me has dissipated over the years, but I'm glad our connection hasn't. We can talk about anything. Politics. Movies. 90210. I love you.
I feel so honored, seriously, Tom to have your first post be on the one 'for me.' I don't know if I quite believe you, just because you really are the tough guy, but regardless it brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for being the best brother in law I've ever had. You are like a brother to me and I will forever be grateful that you married my sister. I couldn't ask for a better guy, for her.
Mommy. I love you. What more can I say. I would go anywhere with you.
I feel like I've done this 25 thing before ;) but thanks for all the well wishes & the thoughts on my behalf. The really do mean more than I can say, which obviously is saying a lot considering I just said a whole heck of a lot. Sorry Lysh. I know I always write a lot. But this time I feel like I 'get' to. Thanks for this special post. Even to those who wanted to comment but where so busy with the pie thing they forgot to.
Thanks Alysha and Luke, who really does bring a smile to my face. I sometimes forget what life was like before he came in to this world.
I’ve been out of town and not seen this, but quickly became emotional when I read this post and comments by Justin and Diane. When you’re the last one to the party, there’s not much original to say, from her caring, empathy and listening qualities to her political, food and fashion tastes; it’s all there in black and white, except for one thing – I love you for all you are – for all you do. I’ll always be there for you – I promise. -- Dad
