Meet my replacements
About every four years I replace my boots. This can get tricky because boot trends seem to change each year. Pointy toe, round toe, pirate boot, wedge boot, skinny heel, stacked heel......this could get very dangerous for me. So every fall I make the decision to either stick with my current boots or invest in a new pair for the next 3-4 years, knowing that I need to pick a pair, or two, that will carry me through the trends.
So here they are, my replacements.
These are almost like the pair I wore to death last winter. They are more of my every day boot, jeans tucked in, sweatshirt, comfortable, don't have to think about it, you know, a winter staple.
And these are my drool worthy boots. I am hoping to get a lot of wear out of them over my lifetime. But I can imagine just staring at them all day instead. This is my favorite color for any shoe, I like to call it cognac. I always recommend having a sandal, heel, flat boot, and even heeled boot in cognac. It goes with everything and its just so pretty.

yes, i LOVE those cognac boots! what brand are they? i know i've seen them before. i tried to cut and paste the link you gave me, but there was an error. it's so funny that you thought the ones i liked were sigerson morrison boots though, because that's what i was aiming for! i really like these: http://www.refinery29shops.com/product.php?productid=17021&cat=106&page=1
i thought the ones i found were a good cheaper version.
What great finds! I love the color cognac, and thank you for introducing me to its name. I have a purse that color and it goes with EVERYTHING. I like your little boot system, much better than having to replace them every year. I am with you on the drooling thing...at least you can wear them and stare at them at the same time!
Both are very cute. I love the charcoal/black boots especially. They look so comfortable and still stylish.
I am in serious need of new boots. Last time I got new boots was at least 5 years ago. I still have the pair but everytime I pull them out of the back of my closet to wear them I put them back because they are beat up and way out of style. Oh well. Some day I will get a new pair.
So cute and both so completely you. I would take a pair of the first ones. Boots are a fall/winter staple that I need to update!
You're boots are great. I enjoy a heel on all of mine. I've never tried a flat boot...maybe I should. I'm just so short, I love a little height through a heel.
I am with you on getting boots- it's been 7 years since I last bought a pair and my last on had a square toe- which hasn't been the trend for a long time and I haven't worn them for about 6 years. I agree cognac is a perfect color and goes with so much more than you'd think!
Excellent replacements Lysh. The black are so good that actually look like your last pair. But before you jump in and say that they do not, I must clarify and say that they look like them to me, and what I remember, and that's a good thing. They are both perfect. Ha, I should pay more attention when I read these blogs. You actually said the same thing. So never mind. The cognac boots, which of course makes me think we are having a drink rather than a boot, are really quite the boot, I'd be afraid of getting them dirty, then again, this is me, the queen of 'not wanting to get her shoes dirty', but they are so so pretty. And the word cognac is just fun. No wonder it's a drink. Excellent replacement choices. Although since I'm so far behind in the Brooklyn Bean Blog you could already be replacing your replacements, but that's just me trying to be silly, or in other words, me trying to be my mother.
